Luke III pickup feedback help!

I recently got a Luke III. I love the guitar but have been unable to gig with it due to the uncontrollable feedback I get from the pickups when playing above bedroom level.

I don't even use that much gain, I play classic rock and country. I tried lowering the screws down into the pickup and that didn't help much, just messed with the tone in a way I don't like.

I wonder what the deal is, active electronics? My other guitars a fully passive, a les paul and a tele and I never have this problem even when I do decide to run at high gain settings.

Help me out here guys, I'm stumped like a short tree.

I'd highly recommend contacting customer service. I have two Luke III's (HH & SSH) and gig with them almost weekly at decent volume and medium-high gain and don't get feedback or squeals.
