Hi All

A local guitar shop near me has a lovely black Luke III with all Rosewwod neck and fret board. It is the HH config with the 12db boost on the tone pot. Have any of you got one of these as i was just wondering if the boost was decent or does it suck all your tone, being an EBMM it should be the dogs dangles.

Thanks

It's the Dog Dangles ! Go get it. The Boost is Natural. Have fun!

Every knuck that owns the Luke III has said nothing but praise and admiration for it...

So go and buy it...

And post pics!

Yea this is one guitar that I am totally looking forward to getting sometime next year hopefully. To all you guys that have one, how's the tone knob doing with the boost? Someone on the forum mentioned before that the switch was failing to stay in the unboosted position on two of his LIII's? I have a feeling that is nonsense.

I love my Luke III. No tone suck from the boost and the push/push pot is holding up just fine.

Oh boy, that's going to be a tough one. Axises are too unique to part with, imo. If you're convinced that you're an LIII convert or if the LIII were a limited edition, then I'd consider it. Otherwise, you're going to have regrets. Jmho.

Remove the cover on the back, make sure nothing is touching the trim pots and re-install the control cover...

I own a HH and never have had a problem. I purchased (and returned after I found damage) a SSH model and the boost was acting up and the pups were out of balance. I took off the back, tweaked the balance trim and it was perfect after that.

if the boost poti inside (the right one in the picture) was all the way down, it could occur that there's no difference when activating the boost or not. so... turn it all up :)

the preamp is always engaged (as long as there is a working battery and a cable connected), the boost activates when pushing the tone poti. so no 'real' passive pickups...
