Just got my August 06 Guitar World (Tom DeLonge/JadePuget Cover) and there is an article titled The Unknown Soldiers about session guitarists.

Luke is featured throughout the article with some studio stories and some classic "Lukeisms" and includes an old photo of him and Eddie hanging in the studio. Includes Larry Carlton, Jay Graydon, Mike Landau etc.

Issue also has a Zappa tribute article with Dweezil and Steve Vai. Just figure I'd point it out since there is no reference to Luke or the article on the cover if any of you Luke fans wanted to pick it up.

I love how that Jade Puget cat is sporting a very similar hair style to that of Mr. George Lynch circa 1982 :D :D

Great article!

I'd suggest skipping to the very last paragraph and reading that first. has the best quote I've ever read. just a classic.

then go back and read article.

Got it in the mail on Tuesday. Really cool article with a lot of background about session players. I could listen to Luke all day.

I still have to pinch myself when I think back to sitting with him at (damn I can't remember the name of the restaurant/bar) the Friday afternoon of the EB Open House. I actually had a backache from laughing so much.

I have to hit myself 'cause I accidentally stepped on him trying to get to my table at the start of the Forum Awards. I didn't know who I stepped on but as I looked down to apologize, Luke looks up! (says to self - damn idiot, you just stepped on Steve Lukather)
