Last night i saw Toto play! Was in de front row in front of Luke :D
Always awesome to see my guitar hero play live!!
Being in front has the advantage to see his guitars up close, and what i noticed
that he played on a black LIII with a black nut. Never saw that before but i think
it looks pretty awesome! Anybody seen a LIII with a black nut before? Or any Luke
with a black nut..??

Going by the TOTO's and Luke's facebook photos of the current tour, the True Gold Luke has a standard maple neck, a black HH LIII has a roasted maple neck, and what I think is an Olive Gold HSS LIII with a standard maple neck (yes, all with rosewood fingerboards, though maybe the roasted is ebony, who knows) and there is an olive gold HH LIII with an all-rosewood neck .

Sounds like he's having fun.

Maybe it's a self-lubricating nut to facilitate tremolo use and keep the guitar in tune.

Sorry, totally forgot to answer this before, Music Man make their compensated nuts in both white and black. Some models get black and some get white. The Petrucci models all have black nuts, as do roasted maple necks (including the current PDNs). Luke's roasted maple neck on his black HH LIII has a black nut, the HSS LIII with the all-rosewood neck has a white nut.

Don't worry, it can be either black or white!
