Luke Owners w/ stainless frets

I'm thinking about getting one of the Starry Night versions and was wondering how they feel and sound compared to the standard version. Any insight is appreciated. I think the Neptune version was the only other one these frets came on... Thanks in advance.

I've never played the standard version. I couldn't imagine it feeling any better than the neck on the starry night.

Thanks for the quick replies gentleman. I know this guitar has an ebony board and withe stainless option I'm wondering how they get along tone wise. I know most people love the pickups but I read some reviews from the online stores that said they were bright- and that was the standard version. I assume you are getting along with no fret markers ok? I bought a carvin with that option and returned it- because if the feel not for the lack of markers, when I did play on it I felt pretty lost- only had it for a few days though. Figured if it continued to bother me I could do some stickies... I own a sign shop...

No difference tone wise. Some may disagree and even then it's a minor thing if anythign. But the majority say no.

I have played different standard EBMM guitars over the past five years. Just started on a silhouette starry night 10 days ago and it is as smooth as butta as compared to standard frets on a maple or rosewood neck.

I installed ss frets on my L3... Minor difference in sound, MAJOR difference in playability and feel... SS frets are God sent...lol

On my Starry Night AL there are still markers along the top, from looking at pictures it seems like the LIII is the same. Personally, I have no problem just using the markers on the top. If it had no markers at all I would be completely lost.

I assumed the starry version had the low wide frets- but maybe stainless versions are larger- I'm sure you all know...

I installed SS on my Luke II. Tone change is so minimal I don't even know if it is worth mentioning. Turn your treble down .5 of a notch if you can even notice a difference. The feel is incomparable. I will be installing SS on all my electrics.

Same here - installed SS frets on my Luke II , now playing my L3 just to wear the regular frets enough to justify refretting it with SS .

Do you all know if they are low wide stainless on the starry version? Or are they larger? I have stainless on a schecter that I like- they are pretty large...

I absolutely LOVE my Starry Night L3. The SS frets are a major reason for that. It has fret markers on board's edge, and I don't miss the inlays a bit. (Personal preference, but if my posture is such that I can see the front inlays while playing very much of the time, I'm bound for neck discomfort.)

Also, after playing with the HH model, I'm SO glad I have two of the Transitions. Amazing pickups! Take the plunge…

I did not even notice the difference with stainless frets. And the missing fret dots was, much to my surprise, a non-issue for me either. The fretboard is to die for... it smells like ebony -- like a campfire or cork board. It is killer. Buy it. Trust me.

Just to put some info for others here. I did speak to a couple of dealers. They said the frets on this version look like medium jumbos "like what you'd see on a typical Fender"- so it seems these are not the low wide frets in stainless they are a bit larger. Oh, and I should have mine on Tuesday
