I got my Luke used and noticed the humbucker sounded thin compared to the singles. The singles also had a lot more balls. I took it to a tech to see if the EMG electronics were good. He ended up raising the humbucker and it is a lot better but the singles still have a lot more low end compared to the humbucker. Any of you ever run into something like this?

Might sound stupid, but have you checked the battery?

Is it the stock EMG 85? If not someone might have swapped it for an 89 and it might be wired split?

Yup, brand new battery and it is an EMG 85 according to EMG. I called their tech support too. It's kinda weird. It sounds better now but the singles are really bassy compared to the humbucker.

It should be the exact opposite. The 85 in my luke is hotter with a higher output than the singles.I used to have a strat with the lukather pre-wired pickguard assembly from emg and same deal.I'd take it back to the tech to confirm that it's an 85 and that it's working properly.Did he pull the p/up out or just raise it up?
