Okay, so I've just restrung my new (pre-owned) Luke with 10s. There has been the customary improvement in tone but it seems that the springs in the trem can just about cope with 10s and no more.
I only have two springs in the trem so my question is: What gauge strings do you use and how many springs do you have on the trem? How do you set your trem up? Against the body, semitone (on the G string) up, tone up? more?
I wonder how heavy you can go without getting the nut recut. The Luke seems fine with 10s ... will it take 10.5s?
