Fellow Knuckleheads,

This is a sincere question: Are the Dimarzio pickups the exact same in the LukeIII HH and Sterling LK100D?

The way I read descriptions, I'm not sure. That's all. Just curious.

Yes, they are the exact DiMarzio "Transitions" pickups that we put in the SBMM LK100D.

The push-push 12db boost is unique to the LK100D. It was designed for us by Dudley. The major difference is that the SBMM boost does not have a mini-VR that the user could dial the level of boost up or down.

Hope this answers your inquiry!

I'm not sure. But ive recently tried the two head to head. And i can tell you for a fact that they sound verry different. Altough i must say that the sbmm is a good alternative to the real deal. But i doubt it has the same pickups in there...

And is there the adjustment for balancing the output for the 2 and 4 positions (the single coil modes) like in the L III ?

I saw some dude complaining about the cost of a LukeIII on youtube, and I kindly suggested that if the LIII was unaffordable to pursue the LK100D...which, for ~$800, has the same pickups. I asked this to make sure I have my facts together, and for personal curiosity.

Here's another question, since folks have been so helpful: I know the trem is stamped "Sterling" instead of "Music Man" but are the two really different? Listening to demos of both, I can't really tell much of a difference.

Thanks!

In europe a lk100d is 1100€ so i think they are pretty expecive for an indonesian guitar. But they are built verry well

The SBMM vintage tremolo was designed for us by Music Man and is very similar to the Music Man USA counterpart. It is made in Korea.
