Hi OBB - nice to see another friendly face ;)

I got impatient waiting for the reply - not knowing there was a problem of course - and bought the white with matched headstock to satisfy the need.

I had a fair idea it would be an excellent instrument, but nothing really quite prepared me for it's quite delicious tone and slapability.

So many basses...so little time :D

I don't suppose you would know the sort of SR5 I should seek out bearing in my mind I'd really like a not very wide neck? I tried one out in SC Glasgow but the neck felt even wider than my Status Stealth and that's getting too problematic to play much these days.

Well I have very short fingers which is why I bought the Sterling back in 96. The SR5 is only a Sterling with the extra string and I adapted to that very quickly. The only bass I've come across with tighter string spacing is the OLP and an old Westfield thing. Now you've got your Sterling have a go at an SR5 again, or even a Bongo - same spacing and lovely neck. :)

I'll do just that when down at SC again next week.

The Bongo - that looks like a real challenge of a bass. Not the most obvious beauty initially, but the're kinkiness has been growing on me for sometime.

Mind you, maybe a second job might be just as useful...
