Huh, ...just made a practice at home with one domestic 80s pop-rock song in the background with my reflex (50:50 slap/finger-style bass line), ...what to say?

In the mix I didn't noticed a big difference, ...but when played bass alone, ...ohh yes, ...it's brighter now, even with an old washed strings just burned in with about 1 hour of practice!

Holy crap, ...but I like it, ...ohh my, ...I really like it veeery much, ...wooow!
I was suspicious about that, ...but yes, ...it's true, ...gloss maple board finish increases brightness in the higher tone spectrum range!!!

I must record a short video presentation, ...maybe with fresh set of EB Cobalts?

Looks like a job well done!

I quite like the Cobalts, but they are considerably brighter than the factory (nickel) Slinkys. Might be a bit too much with the poly finished maple and ceramic pickups.

I know, ...that's what passive tone knob is for, ...or EQ in active mode!

Remember, ...I'm a sound engineer, ...our first rule is not to boost EQ knobs, ...we do only cut what's trouble!
Have You ever seen a professional rack mounted studio 32 band graphic EQ?

When all sliders are on the max. top position, ...that's the 0 dB level, ...so all what's left is to cut frequencies which are trouble for Your ears, ...if you know what I mean? ;)

What am I missing? This looks the same as an off the shelf reflex to me.. I am half blind these days though.. Do reflexes usually have painted necks?
