The mistake was trying out a Bongo 4 HS! I have read a multitude of information about how great the Bongo sounds and now I know that it's a fact. I never tried one because I didn't care for the look of the bass and now I'm kicking myself for it. No offense to any Sterling owners because I am one myself, but the Bongo just kills my Sterling, again this is just my opinion. I think my Sterling is about to hit Ebay unless I can persuade the better half to believe I need them both. But honestly I don't know if I would get it out of the case with a Bongo in the house. BP, congrats on coming up with what I now think is the best bass tone bar none, no matter what I or anyone else thinks of the shape!

James. Brother. You just tell her how it's going to be, okay?

Keep the Sterling. Get yourself a Bongo. She'll live.

James, just a thought. Not that any of us have resorted to this, but, how many pair of shoes does your wife own? Again, just a thought.

I had made a deal with her when I got up to four basses that anytime another came in the house, one would go out. So that was my fault. As for shoes, nine pairs in the closet and one on her feet, so definitely not as bad as most. Hell she even bought my new amp and cabs for my last birthday so I couldn't ask for any better. I may or may not keep the Sterling, but I will keep Dana. Nothing like a Georgia peach.

There is no way I would own 10 or more basses. I think the four I have are two to many. I haven't even opened the case on the Jazz or the 5 string in over four months. I would sell one or both of those to pay for a Bongo, but the Jazz was my Dad's and I keep thinking I might actually use the 5 at some point. One thing is for sure, if the Sterling goes on Ebay, I bet whomever wins will get it much cheaper than I did.
