One More Tone Block Question

I've heard about a certain Mahogany tone block found on the 20th Anniversary Silhouette and the JP Prototype. Can someone explain to me what this is, where it's located and how it affects the sound?

I actually had a somewhat related question that I hadn't had a chance to ask yet and now seems like an appropriate moment:

Why do I sometimes see the specs for the 20th Silo mention the tone block and sometimes it is not mentioned (specifically, the "official" PDF spec sheet from EBMM)? Are there two versions of the 20th, one Alder only and one Alder+Mahogany, or was the original spec sheet just put to bed before the actual design was?

I think the Tone Block "sounds" like a good idea (ugh--sorry for the terrible pun!), because Alder with a Maple top has always sounded a bit too bright for my liking.

Thanks! :D

AFAIK, the tone block comes in all 20th Ann. Silos. It does wonders.
