Majesty Flutter

Hey Everyone.

I've had my majesty for quite some time now. I love this guitar. It's incredible. Today I played my friend's JP15. I was blown away by how much more flutter his guitar has than mine. They are both 6 string guitars I think with the same bridge right? Does anyone have any insight into why this would be?

He has the same gauge 10-46. Same stock Musicman springs as mine in the same position. Do you know how I can adjust the overall tension?

You can adjust the two screws on the claw to which the springs connect opposite the trem block. Tighten the screws for more tension, loosen for less.
 
If the trem is floating the tension on the springs will be in balance with the tension on the strings. Loosening the claw will simply allow it to rise up off of the face of the guitar until the tension balances again. So, the tension will be the same but your action will be higher. A change in string size with a claw adjustment will change string tension.

Can't really accomplish a tension change without changing string gauge?
 
if your guitar came with extra springs, try changing them out.. just for a try.
My majesty 6 flutters like crazy... I have some guitars with the same bridge that flutter better than others, and have found changing springs has helped to a small degree. Give it a try, can't hurt.
 
I use 9.5-44 gauge on all my guitars. On my Majesty I adjust the claw so the bridge plate is completely level with the body and I have no trouble with flutter
 
Also, tension of the arm effects flutter. If your arm is pretty loose, you won't get a much flutter.
