what do you do with all those unused prototypes?

If theres something wrong, it gets cut in half. They set that standard back in 1984 and I don't think they're going to change that now. I'm not sure if thats different with prototype guitars since at this point theres no real "wrong" or "right" since its all still experimentation and the right way hasn't yet been established but, I know the guitar parts will not be salvaged for other guitars in the future.

They don't make seconds.

I have a vault very similar……except it's filled with rubber bands, pens, a pair of scissors and paper clips. Oh, and it's about the size of a drawer.

Damn, I need cool stuff for my vault. [sobs]

BP had mentioned earlier that John has most of the protos. Makes sense given that they'd make a change, ship it to him for testing, and get his feedback.

Guys, this is the left handed model, be patient, the normal one is coming soon...

...aaaaaaaaaannnndddddd then I woke up.

I imagine we're experiencing similar Majesty emotions leftyguitarblue. The Majesty may well revolutionize how the electric guitar is perceived and lead to world peace and good happiness and stuff with its invisible M- steel strings but it won't be available left-handed!

{Still awaiting the call to say a lefty Luke is available so that I can try it (and wife permitting, buy it). I've now built the Luke up in my mind to this mythical instrument that will transmute my mental sonic manipulations into harmonious sound energy with ease.}

Having seen the photos of the Majesty (or at least two or three protos, as the case maybe), it's interesting to see how you guys are interpreting the teases you've seen so far. Is this the back or the front? Is that up or down? One of these or one of those? Does it look like this or that? Having seen it it seems obvious to me, but I wonder what I'd be thinking had I not seen it? Very exciting I'm sure!

Devin there is a difference between seconds and prototypes...prototypes are all too often great for reference....you try this, you try that and sometimes you go too far and the last prototype you made just validated the one before. We never destroy protos.

Pops, would you and JP ever be inclined to do a "give away" some day for one of the later proto's? It would be kinda neat for the fan base as well for music man publicity.

Awesome. I figured you'd do something different with them other than cut them in half. 50 prototypes! wow, you guys really don't mess around over there! It's awesome that you guys pull out all the stops to makes his dreams a reality!

As this is the first guitar release tease that I've been witness to, I'm interested in knowing how long has this taken. From JP's initial request to the finished product. I know it depends on the artiste and is reliant on prototypes being accepted (50 wow!?!)

I recently watched a 'making of an Armada' on youtube and it seems like one morning Dudley and Scott got together with some ideas and by 5:00 pm there was a completed guitar! Obviously it takes longer but how long?

Big Poppa,

I know everyone will flame me for this but instead of pics as things are in flux again....How about a hint of the shape...I know you stated its like nothing before but maybe a verbal picture so to speak about what may still be set in stone...

Ok, every one flame me now.....
