Hello,

I am thinking about getting a Majesty Artisan. But I only have played a standard Majesty so far. Is there a difference in the necks?

Are the Artisan necks maybe thicker? Because I've found a post in an old thread where the measured Artisan guitar seems to be quite a lot thicker on 12th fret than all the other JP's including the standard Majesty.

(I guess if some Artisan owner would post the neck thickness of his/her instrument at 12th fret that would answer my question too ;))

Thanks for any answers.

I have one of each. They feel exactly the same. Both are perfect!

I used a caliper to measure top of fretboard (under the strings) to back of neck at 12th fret. In other words, top-to-back neck depth at 12th fret. I did not include the fret height, just the wood of the neck. Majesty Regular: 26.5/32 inch. Majesty Artisan: 27/32 inch.

Thanks for your effort.
Translator says thats 21,43mm for the artisan. This definately sounds good to me. I had someone meausure some older Petrucci's for me and they all came out thinner. (a JP12-7 20,5mm; a JPxi 19,5mm@1st 20,2mm@12th; a JP12 19,1mm @1st 20mm @12th; a JP13-7 19mm / 20.5mm... so thats really consistent, I thought I'd share this data...)
Also, when I tested a Jp13 and a Majesty the Maj felt way thicker to me. But then again I was reading how the Jpxi,jp12,jp13 and Maj are all supposed to be the same, which is quite confusing...
