Just a note.
I used my Silo Special for a live show for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been using Silo’s and later Silo Specials for years for recording and for some practices and jam sessions, but I had never used one for a live performance. When it came to performing live I’ve always grabbed a (forgive me) les paul. It was never that I thought pauls were better guitars or sounded better, I’m just an old dog and the Silo’s were a new trick.
Anyway, one of my bands had to open for a group called Stone Pony a couple of weeks ago at a local auditorium and my back was aching. I didn’t want to hang a paul on an already sore back so I grabbed my Silo and took it to the gig. I have to say it performed like a champ. I was always afraid of using new guitars live thinking I would miss a lick or something and turn really red. Not only did it perform really well, at the end of the gig my back was still in good enough shape for me to hit the after gig party. Normally I skip those. I’ll be using the Silo live a lot more in the future.
