ok so i was watching the gravity games on oln, and the had a tribute to all the athletes by a band called sr71. what was really weird was the bass player's bass. it looked to me to be a stingray. from quick glimpses it was either a black cherry burst or the sparkle version of it. white pickgaurd, maple neck. i know it was a stingray because of the 3+1 tuner configuration. it seemed like a eb/mm stingray to me, but thats only partially weird cuz they were really crappy. but what really weird was the pickup setup on the ray. you think ray you think bridge bucker. this dude had a p pickup in the mid or so postion and a jazz in the bridge. wtf?!!?! did i miss something? was there an uber limited run of p&j configuration rays? or is this a one of custom job? someone please shed some light on this for me.

Might be something here - www.sr-71.net

He IS playing a regular ray on some pix, but there might be something somewhere else.

Mommy, why is that man playing a PRS bass?

Because he is stupid and doesn't know any better, honey.

Xcental, I thought that was pretty darn funny! But I am also smart enough to know that it was a joke, and PRS does make top quality gear. Guys...lighten up! :D

Thank you. Some people need to remember the correct directions for internet typing. 1. Remove stick from sphincter. 2. Type.

PRS makes amazing guitars. I lust for one. But their basses are just ridiculous.

Price and sound. They're some of the muddiest basses I've ever played, and the string tension so tight. I think they go for $1900.
