Hi guys,

I hope you are all well and enjoying the holidays so far! So this little gem came up for sale a couple of days ago and I just couldn’t say no!

I’m not usually a fan of a Floyd Rose but OMG this thing plays fantastic and sounds even better than it looks lol. Why did I wait so long to get one! Neck and frets are similar to my L3’s and are very comfortable to play. I had to sell my JP6 to buy this one but I'm glad I did.

Production date is July 18th 1994, Just gotta get a new tone knob as this one has broken unfortunately and it also needs a new 3 way toggle switch as the original one is on its way out. Managed to order a D Tuna on Ebay last night so that's on the way.

I can't seem to order any parts from Music Man's website or any dealers as Music Man don't allow the export of their parts outside the US. I know a dealer in the US that has the parts needed. I don't suppose anyone on here might be able to help me out and get the parts I need and send them out to the UK?

Here's some pics for you all enjoy!

Many thanks
Paul

Reach out to Strings and Things, they are the EBMM distributor in your area.

Hope this help, Glenn |B)
Thank you, I sent them an email earlier today. I probably won't hear anything now till after the holidays. Hopefully they might have the parts in stock if not I'll just order them.

Sorry I haven't been very active on here the last few weeks but I got the dreaded flu a couple of weeks back and I'm just starting to feel better.

I managed to get a new pickup switch fitted and new tone knob too. I think the Floyd and the locking nuts may need replacing though, the Trem bar keeps coming loose even though I've tried to tighten it inside the cavity and on the actual trem bar itself. It seems to rock back and fourth like the fitting has had it. I could probably live with it but it might be better to replace it I think.

Should I just replace it with a Gotoh one or will the US Floyds be ok? I don't have much experience with Floyds so I thought it might be worth asking you guys.

Also considering FU-Tone as well although I'm told a 42mm block will fit but I'm measuring 36mm inside the cavity so I'm a little confused lol.

Many thanks

Paul

Gotoh 1996t is the replacement for this. I have used the Gotoh to replace the bridge in my Axis tribute. 40mm is the Gotoh's replacement, so a 42mm should be ok.

Thanks Stevie, appreciate the reply I'll check the Gotoh one out. I'm temped to try the FU-Tone stuff as well. Adam from FU Tone has used one of his Floyds on his MM EVH as well and has suggested a few other upgrades too. I'm thinking about it!
