Maybe this is a silly question, but...

Does anyone know WHY EBMM just dose'nt post some more pics of the 20th anniversary, besides the flyer which was rosewood only? Or maybe, oh I don't know, update the MM site so that when you try and build a guitar on there, all the colors actually work and you can actually see more of the instrument options you select? Seems like its been a long time since they updated that site, and for guys like me who are badly addicted and need to purchase these instruments it would be a great help in deciding on a purchase, especially since virtually NO ONE near most would be buyers actually has any EBMM's in stock. And I know it sounds like I am bitching, but heres the deal. The only Carbon Blue pearl Luke I have ever seen was on the forum (pics of my guitar) post by an owner of one. Thats it. You cannot select that color, and many others at all on the website. Any one...?

It's in the works apparently, so dont worry. Believe me I want to see the new MM site as well. If you need a pic, just ask Foggy like this thread was about :D. And that Carbon Luke might have been mine :D.

that was yours

Roubster...that was your Luke in Carbon Blue pearl I saw...your a lucky man with that one, that is beautiful. That Luke guitar always bugs me, because I want it, played it before, loved it but I always put it off for some reason. Its really an understated elegance with it, very focused and clean, even more so than say a JP. That color did it for me though, I have to have one FO SHO now. I have read some reviews about the Luke not having a lot of output pickup wise, is that true? Late..

Olorin,

You might produce a Carbon Blue Pearl Luke with the instrument builder if you specify the right options...

if there's a pic on file of the guitar you build (with all the options you chose for headstock/bridge/etc) then it will show up.

I'm not sure if they company will update the Instrument Builder or not... they'd have to build and photograph every instrument in every allowable configuration. That's somewhere around 80,000 variations at last count (I could be off on this).

Maybe they'll come up with a way to render the colors onto a single image of each model, but then you'll never get the exact appearance.

There are models much older than the 20th Sil which are not configurable on the builder.. things like the Bongo, Morse Y2D, Benji Madden, and any of the SUBs.

That wont work, I tried. try and youll see, all configs were selected and it does not run. But hey, I guess we have this forum and the net to hunt down pics right? BTW...80,000 variations is childs play, here at my job we handle tons of image processing in many different spectrums on a daily basis and have it out to our science guys ASAP. It can be done, just takes a little time.

Either way, like you said, we have this forum for all the inquiries and the picture librarian MR. Fogman :D.

As for the Luke, the single coils do have less output as they are single coils, hehehe. The 85 has A LOT of power, but the whole thing is balanced very well I think. Check out some of Tristan's videos. He is an endorser now (lucky bastard :D), and LOVES the Lukes and can play the bajesus out of em. I'll try my best to actually make a video specifically showing the versatility of the pups and the controls within a week (I said that like couple months ago lol). I cant freakin wait to get the 20th Silo however, as I have always wanted H-H and 3 way toggle EBMM, but not a JP.

I agree about not doing the JP. I am big SILO fan especially since it offers everything you need (24 frets, peizo, alder, hsh). I think this 20th anniversary Silo is going to become a legend, too bad its going to take six months to get here. "to those who wait"....I need to start selling these guitars part time as a side business.

the new site will come in time. ive heard rumors theyre working on it.

personally i like that EBMM is concentrating on and turning out great new instruments, and thats just the ones we know of. God knows how many secrets they have in R&D.

no worries though ...im sure everyone understands the frustration but the site will be updated soon enough. + when the 20ths ship out in sure Pete and many others will post an ass ton of pix

Its strictly a focus/manpower issue. We are workng on the site alon with a ton of other stuff. (how aobut an EB radio widget?) I would love to be able to fufill all of my ideas. That is the frustrating part for me.

By default this forum has reallly turned out to be the best source for any and all Music Man information. content provided by the user is the wave of the future...i.e. new netscape, wikipedia, digg.com.

True

I agree with you there about the user content being the wave of the future there BP. You guys out on the west coast need some help with HTML and whatnot, I'll offer up my expertise in exchange for first dibs on that Maple topped JP hybrid, if you decide to build that that is.:D Time to go to work....
