Hi,

I got a MM Sting ray bass guitar with unfinished maple neck. After cleaning it, I applayed gun oil a little coloured. the neck became darker and a little more darker on the top .

Can you suggest me how to get it more brighter? Do i need to clean it again wit oil soap? I don't like it now. It looks like older now.
Please help.
thx

The headstock (front and back) is lacquered. The back and the fingerboard is „unfinished“.
Maple is very dense and normally don‘t need any maintenance.
Its not a fault if you treat it with tru-oil which is light ambered and it prevent moisture to sunk in.
Your maple neck will also darken if you leave it alone. I personally found it looks nicer when its darker.

What kind of "gun oil" did you use? If it's colored gun oil, it's going to make the maple a bit darker. What did you use to clean it?

Sweet a one of a kind color neck bro......enjoy it!!!!
