Maple Neck For Music Man Bass

Hi - this is my 1st post here.
I have a question - what is the best way to clean a maple fretboard? I have tried alot of things, however there seems to be grained in stains in the fretboad that just wont come out. Is it supposed to be like that? I also have some very faint but noticable green type colour on the very edges of the fretboard showing through. Surely that cannot be right....does anyone know what that is or what has caused it?
I also have some black something or other on the magnet dots on my pickup which seem to be increasing every gig - I have tried everything to get it off but it wont come off. Any help you can give me on the above points?

its just from playen allot, I wouldn't worry too much about the board, my advice is to have a professional luther take a look at it. a good one will tell you whats up, and how to clean it. they will probably even do it for you for a minimal fee.

Per the FAQ section, I use lemon oil. Does the trick quite nicely.
