Well, I think there are a few reasons for that
- I get an RSS feed for this site and noticed this message shortly after it was posted
- Unexpectedly, there was a fantastic HSS AL on the list
- I looked up at the wall and I didn't have a fantastic HSS AL hanging on it
- You had one available
- I am prone to impulse purchases
Of course, given my one in, one out rule, I now have to decide what to sell...

Why are they switching back-and-forth between the triangular pickup cut and a rectangular pickup cut?
There could be lots of reasons. I'm sure their plan was not to make it difficult for pickup swapping if that's what your getting at.

I would say it depends on the pickups being installed. The Musicman pickups made in house have square legs. Dimarzio pickups have triangular legs.

Hopefully that won't be soon.
I still have most of my ALs although I have sold a couple in recent years.
This one will bring me up to 4 again. I think I had 5 at one point.

This BFR ticks a lot of boxes for me. Cool finish, HSS, trem, no inlays, nice flamed neck, light weight. Couldn't resist!!
