I read Billy's post the other day about switching from GK to MarkBass and it was the proverbial straw...I proceeded to turn my office upside-down in search of the GC receipt for my GK Neo 1001/212 combo...found it with 3 days to spare on the GC return policy. I liked the GK, but just wasn't thrilled. I immediately called my local GC manager, who had previously told me that there was no way he could get MarkBass gear, and he told me that things had changed and he could get it. I returned the GK and ordered a MarkBass CMD 102P, which was supposed to be delivered to my work address...

...My wife returned home for lunch today and found the dreaded UPS sticker on the door...they sent it to my house...now I have to wait until tomorrow and take the day off work so that I can be there for the delivery.

I'll add a post here that is more in line with the title of this thread - not necessarily Markbass frustration - but frustration getting Markbass stuff.

Just returned from my nearest GC - I went there to order in two Markbass cabs. First the guy didn't think he could do it (thanks to Ed and Marty for saying it was possible to order MB gear at any GC). Then he could not find the codes in the computer. Had to call his regional guy, then someone else and finally the GC in Hollywood (they had the cabs in question in stock) just to get the product codes. Salesguy started to put the numbers in his computer and nothing showed up. After about 40 minutes he said he would work on it and call me to finish the transaction over the phone.

GC should really get all the stores on the same page. Frustrating.

Not sure when I will get my gear.

I think we're watching this whole thing unfold right in front of us. They've gone from having 3 to over 50 authorized MarkBass stores in the less than 2 months. There are going to be some bugs to work out.

HaHa!!! The UPS guy decided to take another run at my house today!

I've only had about 10 minutes to spend with it, but I'm extremely impressed. It doesn't blow my hair back like the GK did, but I'm sure that when I pair it with my 15 that will be remedied. For now, the tone is outrageous!

Everytime I go to GC and play MarkBass... I cry...
I wish I had the dough...

Gosh, the tone on the TA201 is amazing! I was playing a Bongo through it and just loved the tone I was getting! I wish it had been plugged in yesterday so that I could've tried the Sterling HS through it to get a glimpse of what tones I could get with the switching as opposed to blending.

Depending on where the UPS office is, you can call them and have them hold the package at their distribution center and you can go pick it up there. That's what I do here, but it may be different where you are.

Have you read the entire thread? Or, are you speaking in general terms?

I plan to as well. I think my wife is chipping in for Father's Day. :D

I hope to add the 104HF at some point as well but that'll have to wait.

I'd like to add a 15 or 2x10 "Traveler" (light weight) cab sometime later on.

There are occasional cases of confusion, but please understand that the line is brand new to many of the stores. The situation is improving daily.

I will check on this, but I think that sometimes the problem can be that people enter "Mark Bass" into the computer.... but the name is MARKBASS.
One word, people!

If you have any problems please contact me directly and we will take care of you!

Thanks,
Peter

Peter - I watched him type markbass in the computer. A few items came up - but not those that I wanted. He called last night about 6 pm and said that because of the way they sell MB gear - in there system price for the item plus the 2 year warranty - his computer would not let him "special order" the gear I want. He said he would get to me today with the resolution.
