From the MarkBass website:

Markbass Hits the USA in August!
23/06/2006
The much-anticipated arrival of Markbass amplifiers on American soil will begin in August at the Guitar Center.
Five years after the company was founded in San Giovanni Teatino, Italy, the world’s largest marketplace will finally hear the Markbass sound for itself and enjoy an exciting lineup of ultra-lightweight, ultra-reliable amps, cabinets and combos.

“We’ll start with the most popular Markbass models, and eventually we’ll be carrying the entire Markbass line in the coming months,” says Ed Ocean, Bass Products Buyer for Guitar Center. “We look forward to a long and bright future together with Markbass, and have been excited about this partnership since its inception.”

August will mark the beginning of a new era in bass amplification for Americans!

“Markbass is committed to serving the needs of bass players. That’s why the amps are being so warmly received,” says International Promotion, Marketing and Artist Relations Manager Peter Murray. “Marco and his team have spent many years applying cutting-edge technology to these specific needs: a true, clear and honest sound, headroom to spare, ultra-light amps that are easy to transport, and affordable products that will work every time without fail. Technology and intelligent design have provided the solution.”

We know many of you have been waiting patiently for the arrival of Markbass in the US, and we’d like to thank you for your patience and continued interest. Starting in August, ask for Markbass at your local Guitar Center. We want to help you sound better, play better, and make better music!

I am quite sure the Peavey will work until then. Of course I have to find a GC.

You'll like 'em.

They sound great (7lb for the Little Mark head) and when your carrying the cab you don't start thinking about a trade off between a back ache and good sound. :D

Promises, promises. The check is in the mail. We've heard it before so hopefully this one will come true.

Well this is the first official announcement that they have released, so I think we can expect that this will be it. Everything else you heard before was just pure conjecture.

Not exactly. I had received emails from Markbass about this. I think the hold up was with GC though.

Hey Beth. If you want to get those out of your office, just send them to me and I'll store them for BP. He can pick them up in November when he's here. ;)

"Punch" is the word for sure. I hooked up my MarkBass SL450 to both Berg HT-112's today, grabed the BC Bongo H/H and "punched" the house today... God it felt good!:D

I wonder who set up this deal?(without a commission , I might add) Guitar Center didnt hold anything up...it takes time t0o creat your marketing plans displays order forcasting...its also the first european name product that they are handling exclusively without a middle man. Is also take Marco awile to ramp up for GC's orders...they are big!

I just pinged my closest GC to see if they would be getting them. I will increase the radius from my home to find one.

I was excited about another amp, but I listen and the Markbass is probably the only thing that can make me change from my Peavey.

Peavey? Hey I get the gig done with it. All of you that won't use it, eat your heart out. I never lost a gig over it.

Listening has made me smarter and I have never regretted doing just that.

Once I start to miss my HD-500 again, Im sure Ill wind up snagging a MarkBass.

Yay, Australia finally got something before the US :D

Seriously, Markbass offer awesome cabs/heads for the money and weight. They're very light, yet maintain that power and volume. I was blown away by that Markbass mini or whatever it's called (can't remember) amazing head for its size.

These amps are truly amazing! They are available around here (Belgium) and I've tried them a few times (although I'm really a guitar player...).

The Bassplayer in my band is planning on buying one of these!
