Off Topic Markbass kicks butt

I am using a Little Mark Tube 800 with a Traynor 115 Neo cab and Traynor 210 Neo Cab. Spectacular combination.

I also picked up a GK MB200 head. The tiny little thing gives me 140W at 8 Ohms. It fits in my case, so I carry my bass case in one hand and one of the cabs in the other hand for practice gigs at other people's houses. Easy!

I use a Markbass LMIII with two TC Electronic 2x10 cabs and it works a treat. On my MM Sterling I dial in a little extra bass and a touch more than that of mid. The treble is left mostly flat.

On my LMIII I have the EQ pretty much flat with a touch of extra mid. I also use the Vintage speaker thing at about 9.0clock.

Do most Markbass users get their tone by EQing the bass or the amp? Or both..?

Use both. but I more often adjust VLF and VLE knobs in between songs, rather than bass settings.

Used a Minimark (

yesterday evening in a club gig.... plenty of sound and volume out of a stack you can carry all by yourself. Got compliments for the clear yet warm bass sound from band members, sound guy, audience.

Thank you Marco for making them, thanks to all of you on the EBMM forum pointing me to that brand..

I recently switched out my Ashdown gear for Mark Bass, at the recommendation of a friend, and couldn't be happier. I actually downsized to the little CMD 102P and couldn't be happier with it. Very punchy, and lively sounding, without getting muddy in the mix. I'm sure the SR4's have something to do with that too though ;-)

comparison
Can anybody compare Markbass Little Mark Tube vs. Ampeg SVT 7 PRO (i think its around the same $ )?? And if markbass heads go well with speakers? I'm kinda hesitating before choosing with which set i would like to stick with... So...

Markbass LMark Tube + Markbass speakers (2x10" or 4x10", though that's 800W)
Markbass LMark Tube + ampeg speakers (i don't know which one)
Ampeg SVT-7 PRO + markbass speakers
Ampeg svt-7 pro + ampeg speakers...

Can somebody give me any useful advice?

I've been using the Lmt800 and the LmIII through my Ampeg SVT 810 and it has gotten great tone for me. The only thing that I've noticed is that at larger gigs mainly outdoors the cab can struggle at higher volume. I've just sold the SVT and am getting a Markbass cab so we will see what's better.

I can't convince myself to give up my old "dinosaur" rig, but I LOVE the compressore pedal, and have it on constantly. With some minor tweaking I'm able to make my sound pop in any room. After trying several compressors and being disappointed in absolutely all of them, it's refreshing to find something that does both what I want, and what I need.

I love my Markbass Compressore too! I play straight into the PA (with no amp) and for that application, the Compressore is just what is needed!

(I should note that I use an SR5.)
