I just picked up a 2-10 and loving it all by itself. Blows away my old ampeg 2-12 portabass cabinet. I haven't used my 108 for 7 months. The new 4-8 cabinet looks to be nice too.

I have the LM3, but I never seem to hear that great things about the cabs which is a massive shame. I dont understand what the problem is (mainly seems to be perpetuated by *alkbass).

Anyway, I tested the F500/NY122 rig and I thought the 2x12 was immense! I THINK I prefer the syrupy warmth of the LM3 to the F500....but again, not 100%.

So yeah, the NY212 is one small, light, and STUPID loud cabinet. Im not sure if I love the tone or not. I didnt have time to A/B it.

Well... update... just found out from Musiciansfriend by email that they can't ship any Markbass stuff to Canada. Despite the Canadian flag icons beside Markbass products, they are not permitted to do so. The Musiciansfriend rep informed me that their website was in the process of updating to reflect this when I placed my order...

... kind of depressed... :(

Refresh my memory. Why can't you use Long and McQuade? Thats where I got my Markbass stuff. I have also seen a lot of Markbass product at LA Music in Port Credit (Mississauga). Both have websites and both ship...

I could've used them, but I would've saved a significant amount of money when Musiciansfriend had the "no duty no tax" deal. The price difference between Canadian and USA dealers is quite significant.

Update:

Well, I just received a RS212 cabinet in the mail! It sounds great! I'm still waiting for my TC Classic 450 to arrive.

I'm thinking of adding a TC 112 or 210 cabinet to make a full stack. I really like the sound of the 212, so I'm thinking of going with the 112 (or maybe I should go with another 212!).

Great choice. Those TC cabs are, IMO, a very very wise buy.

Why? Great full punchy lo-mid push type of sound, very sweet high end from the tweeter (not harsh like my now ex Berg HS410) and excellent weight/form factor for a ceramic cabinet.

IMO, TC made a wise move with bass products. That RS212 is a very good price, and Ive heard some reviews saying the RS210 is one of the best 210s out there, then you factor in the great price, and thats even better.

EBMMs sound great through TC and Markbass gear :)

Well... my Classic 450 is on backorder, so on a whim I bought a Markbass Little Mark III and hooked it up to my TC Electronic RS212..

WOW... what a great sounding pair! The warmth of the LMIII with the 212 is great for country/rootsy stuff!

So... my current setup is StingRay--->LMIII--->RS212.

I'm still going to get the RS210 and Classic 450 (eventually), but I have to say there's nothin' wrong with a Markbass/TC combination.

Update!

Since I originally posted this thread over a year ago, I've completed both Markbass (LMIII/104 Standard HF) and TC Electronic (Classic 450/RS210/RS212) rigs. They both have a great sound, but I mostly use the Markbass for my StingRay - they sound great together, IMO.

I was very surprised to read the threads over at Talkbass where it was revealed that TC Electronic's bass amps actually put out significantly less power than advertised. I've never found the TC to be lacking in volume, that's for sure.

Anyways, thanks for all the feedback.

PS - might be going EBMM bass shopping this weekend! There are a couple of Sterlings I have my eye on... :)

I traded my TC RH450 head a few months ago. Next to my Trace Elliot AH300SMX it sounded thin and weak.

I absolutely LOVE TC effects, and own multiple pedals and rackmount processors from them. Their amps let me down, though.
