With all the buzz about the LMK II, has anyone checked out the top-o-the line SD800? Is it overkill for all but those who play stadiums? Can u ever have too much power?

Yes, it kicks some seious ass. I like it more than the other big MarkBass amps.
No, it's a great amp for amyone playing out.
No, you can not have too much power.

I've been looking into this greatly and am wondering if anyone could PM the usual retail price of a SD800? I may end up going with the LMII but would love to know how much they are.

Please and thank you. :)

Stanky, if you know what the LMII is going for, you need to take that X 2 or maybe a little more.

Andrew, you may wish to wait and see what is coming up at NAMM. See my latest post on the 'woo hoo, Little Mark 11' thread. Alternatively, you can go to the website of MARKBASS themselves to find out about the new products being unveiled at NAMM.

It is all about headroom and you can NEVER have too much!

I totally agree. My current stage rig uses a Crown K2 to power it and I have never come close to needing that much power or dampening factor, but it sure makes the bottom end tight.
