Thanks Craig, I have a DigiTech bass modeler pedal that I have that has a limited compressor adjustment range that I threw in front of the MB Super Synth and it brought new life to the old fretless. I just turned all other effects and models off, just leaving the compressor on. I am sure it is not as good or dynamic as the compressore but it gave me the verification that a compressor will in fact work. There is going to be a compressore in the future when I can afford it.

I get great tracking by running my volume control wide open and using a EBVP Jr at the end of my chain to control the actual output to the amp.

Cool setting info: I use preset 2 for "Lean On Me". By controlling the touch of the right hand I am able to keep the filter only partially open for a nice "whomp, whomp" downsweep sound.

Thanks, the DigiTech has a built in VP I can turn that on with the compressor to try that out. But when I get the compressore then I'll have to buy a VP too. Is there ever an end??????? GAS,GAS,GAS.......
