I thought the standard black pg WAS pretty matte....?

I don't have a camera and if someone helps me make a photo, I'd have to mail it to you [can't post it due to gov'mint 2-way firewall]. Anyway, I just hit the post office on the way to work today, so the PG is not yet on the bass :)

The color is old school tortise shell. Current torty is always reddish. This is the yellow-amber, same color as "horn rimmed" eyeglasses. It's going on a desert gold Bongo [to replace white ice PG]. Turn around was about a week.

Roger used my original PG as a template. Unless I post otherwise later in this thread, assume the fit is perfect.

BTW, JB1 raises a solid point. The stock black PG on my Ray is not exactly glossy. Whether it meets your definition of "matte" I can't say, but it's not a glassy gloss. I'd probably call it "semi-gloss" rathern than "semi-matte". To me, "matte" would mean a visible texture, even if it's an extremely fine-grained texture.
