Here is an email from Anne, Michael's wife:

It was Michael's wish that the Mint Green(e) AL he received last year be auctioned off and the proceeds be donated to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. It's an event Michael participated in locally every June. It meant a great deal to him to wear his Survivor sash, and be able to walk each year in the Survivor lap. This will be the first year in over 10 years that he won't be there.

This the link for the local Relay. (check-out the picture of him on the link) Michael belonged to a team from Elmwood Playhouse. It is a community theater group, where among his many other talents, he had been a lighting designer for over 20 years.

The event is on Saturday June 11, 2011

Thanks for your help,

Anne Greene

I can hardly get through reading this thread. :(

I think this is a fantastic idea - I wish I was in a position to bid on this auction. I hope some knucklehead does it justice. Thanks to Pete and anyone else involved in this great idea!

Sure do miss his presence around here.

Awesome pictures, Ernie. Thanks for sharing them.

Pete - good job in helping with the setup - I'm going to bid - should I win, I'll cover all other costs if ithat's ok. It's a very worthwhile cause, and an ideal reason to come out of retirement - if nothing else I'll drive up the bidding in the process. Good Luck.

Pete, thanks for looking after things. BP’s generosity is a huge added bonus and I hope Michael’s AL brings in a lot.

Cancer has afflicted me personally and has kicked my families ass. I can’t bid but I will donate.
