Picked up a Steve Morse Dark Lord last weekend, but there's something unusual about this one...

It's the only one I've seen (or even pictures of...) with no "BFR" logo/shield on the neck.
I spoke with someone at EBMM and was told that they did a second run after the original 70.
I understand that the second run does not include Steve's autograph & doodle, but I find the missing BFR interesting.
I'm not upset about it, or I wouldn't have bought it.
I kind of appreciate the fact that it's not one of the original run, because now I won't feel bad about playing it...a lot... It's a fantastic instrument!!
I'm super happy with the feel and sound of this guy!
My wife and I saw one of the first ones when they came out and it was stunning... the figuring was incredible!
But we weren't in a position to buy at that time, so it went to some other happy home.
The local GC got a second one which was a bit less-stunning than the first, and again we had to pass it up.

Didn't expect to see anymore, and then our salseman sent us a text w/ pix of this one. I called him up and said "hide it...I'll be there asap!"
Our salesman gave us a fabulous deal on it and I absolutely love it!

I would like to know more about the missing "BFR" though...

bd,
Beautiful Dark Lord, nice get and congrats! Why did you name it Joe? After Joe Bonamassa?

Starting this year, EBMM no longer uses the BFR inlay on the 12th fret. There was a recent discussion here about that.

Good info... Thnx!
I added my 2 pennys to that thread.

"Joe"... you're both right. It's a nod to Bonamassa who created this mutant Y2D (THANK YOU!!) and I thought about the "Meet Joe Black" connection as well...
sure as heck not gonna call it "Darth"...

can someone confirm if the cover on the single coil is plastic or metal? just curious about that and still wondering why the HSH Gamechanger doesn't come with those Chrome PUP covers

I think the Dark lord looks fantastic this way
