Just reworked my Silhouette Special slightly... i was using a push-pull volume knob for a splitter and using a 3-way Axis-style toggle to switch pickups.
It worked OK but the cramped space of that push-pull was a PITA to work with, and the feel of the three-way toggle didn't really agree with me for that guitar. Perhaps a bigger LP-style toggle would have worked better, but I decided it was time to go back to a blade-switch. Sure, I get 5 options instead of 6 that way but I really only end up using 4 of those anyways.
I chose to use this for my two-bucker setup: Megaswitch E-Model
I found this switch much easier to work with than the Super Switch I was using for the same function. I know the Super Switch is used stock for the Silo Specials because it's working with the Silent Circuit, but I don't need it on an HH guitar. Additionally, the Megaswitch E has a nice, solid CLICK feeling when it hits each position. Call me picky, but I like a solid feeling switch and this is the best one Ive tried yet.
If you're looking for a 5-way switch for an HH, HSH, HSS, or SSS guitar, I'd recommend this one... well worth the extra $$. I really dig that you can get both the bridge and neck slot at the same time with a SSS setup without any special tricks. I plan on making use of that feature when I resurrect my Strat.
While I was at it I also moved to a 250K pot instead of a 500K one. Normally I prefer 500Ks with buckers but using a 250K with the JB8/Screamin Demon A2 neck sounds a little smoother and fatter overall. If I want the treble edge back I'll just bump the knobs on my amp. Ironically this 250K pot was functioning as the original volume pot in the guitar when it got taken out!
Jst thought I'd share.
