Just over a year ago my wife and I went to the JP/BP show @ GC in Boston. It was a great time, cool people, great hang. When we were there, I met Glen, great guy, great name too
. I was waiting for the GC guys to do the paper work and such for Francric's JP. We were chatting and I asked about in they (Glen/BP) had brought anything different guitar wise. He guy says like what, I say I don't know maybe an Albert Lee HH. He says yah they put it away, I nearly dropped dead. I was like COOL!!! I took off to find Glen, he said yah they had it and give him a minute and we could try it. It was very to play and of them to bring it along.
My wife thought it was pretty cool, she asked if I liked it, I was like yah, what's not to like!!
Christmas 2009, we do our Santa things in the morning and then off to hang with the family for the day. When we get home it's present time at our house. Everyone opens all of their stuff, my wife gives me a picture of an Albert Lee HH and says, Merry Christmas, pick out what color you want and we'll order it. I was floored. So, I'm looking at all of the cool retro colors and having a really hard time picking one, none were leaping out at me.

I look they look cool, they look different. The thread is huge and BrownDog starts doing mockups, by the way, thanx Jeff. Then I see this:
I'm like that's it!!!! I tell my wife, we talk to Pete and BOOM, it's ordered. So, we pay it off just before Namm, it was a little longer than Pete said, but that's cool, I could wait. I sent Pete an email about if he got the final payment and any idea on the ETA of the guitar. He says it should be soon. No problem. The next day I goto work and I'm checking my email and Pete says it's shipped you'll have it tomorrow!! I'm like alright. So the day come, it's snowing like crazy, they are calling for between 6-10 inches of snow. It's like 10'ish and I see the porch door open and a brown box!!! I'm working, crisis until I can get in, of course. I bring it in, IM a few forum friends that it's arrived. They're like open it, open it!!! I'm like I can't it's a Christmas present and my wife wants to wrap it. Plus I have to finish working, then go out and shovel the snow. After 2.5 hours of shoveling, the snow is gone, now it's time to got work. I've been working 2nd shift for the past couple of months.
So, comes today, my daughter has girl scout cookie sales and a Bday party. But after all is said and done, we eat dinner, my wife is chomping at the bit, she wants me to open it.
I present too you, I'm thinking this is the 1st AL HH in . . . . . .
Black Sugar - Roasted Maple - Albert Lee HH- Hardtail:
The bow was flashing, pretty cool!!!
Love the new cases!!
To anyone getting one, you are gonna love it!!!! I've never had a black guitar before, but this is the hardest paint to capture in a photo.
PS, Pete and Nick, thanx for all of the extra's guys I knew there was a reason I buy from you.
The Pickguard was a great touch. I got a Black Pearliod to go with it. My wife thinks a white or White Pearliod would look better.
