A sad road to walk indeed.
Steve, may you remember and cherish the wonderful memories. It sounds like your dad was a great guy. May his influence on you reflect on your kids and never be forgotten.
I extend my sympathies.

My sympathies to Steve and his family.

It's good to hear that Steve's family was able to be together at that time. My father passed 10 years ago last month. My mother called, realizing the situation he was in and all five chidren and their families were able to get home and be with him, and each other, for an extended weekend just before he died on a Monday. It meant so much to my mother, each of us and my dad as well, and helped each us of get through that difficult time.

I was in the same situation when my mother passed away, I mean I had to drive four hours to be near her but I arrived 1 hour too late :(

While I have lost a lot of family members over the years, some suddenly, I am fortunate to still have both my parents around. I cannot imagine losing one of them. My heart goes out to Steve and his family. I had the pleasure of meeting Steve after a Dregs show at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA. As many of you know (probably more than I) what a super-nice guy Steve is. Talked to everybody who wanted to talk to him (and there were a lot). At least the entire family was there when his father passed. :( My condolences, again.

It was great to be able to see Steve play this year. I did have tickets for the next two shows but in the grand scheme of things, that's no big deal. I think the choice Steve made was right and it should not have been any other way. I'm glad he was able to fly back home.

I wish I could help more.

Steve Morse is my guitar hero.

That's really sad!
I had a chance to meet Steve once, and I can say that he is really a nice guy.
It's very nice of him to post such a beautiful statement for his fans.

My sympathies go to Steve and his family!

I can relate too. I didn't have a chance to say goodbye, though.

My condolences to Steve and his family.
