Off Topic Michael manring private lesson

Wow just spent an hour with him and it was fantastic, no fancy drop tuning mad stuff just basic bass playing ! He was playing my fretless ray for a bit and told me he has ray too and a 78 I think he said.

Total gentleman , I am on cloud nine

He let me record it so I can go back over everything, but it was mind blowing !

Fretless ray's alway sound great
I used my sr5 for the lesson, just because it's what I am most comfortable on.

Super nice guy and his wife is cool too

Michael Manring is a great player, i watched him last NAMM at the Markbass boot and he sounded amazing, congrats.

Man no I never even thought of it , kicking myself now.

I should have got one of him playing my ray !!

He did let me record the whole hour so I can go over it again and again

I have had the privilege of studying with Michael a few times now in New Hampshire at various bass workouts. It is both humbling and inspiring. He could not be a nicer guy either. I highly recommend grabbing a lesson with him if you can. Great post! Glad you had a great experience as well!

We had a local bass gtg a few years ago and Michael was in the area so the host of the gtg was able to get him to come and put on a concert for us. He's definitely a nice guy and the things he does with 4 strings is just amazing. It was a treat to hear him play and get to chat with him for a little bit.
