I'm feeling posty today so here a goes........

I have really begun to notice how much I appreciate and rely upon the Mid freq control on my MM basses. The High and Low Mid adjustments on the bass heads I use don't seem give me what this mid knob does. It helps to cut without adding unpleasant honk. (At least to my ears). And just a little tweak will do ya. I don't use it all the time, but when I do it's just what I need. I had been considering a 2 band Ray but I think I'm better off with this option. Wonderful circuit design! ;)

Frankly I hardly ever use the mids on the bass EQ (also rarely on the amp head, in general to compensate for room oddities). But it is the secret weapon when for some reason I really need to get a nasty edge over everybody else...

When playing my SR4HH I primarily use position 2 (or 4) with the pickup selector switch and boosting the mids just a smidge gives it that little "emf" to speak proudly in the mix. I set the GK flat and just boost the bass EQ a touch on the Ray and it produces wonderful results.
