Has EBMM ever considered adding a Mike Herrera Signature StingRay to its line of products? Mike's always had a really sweet, unique tone when he plays and his custom 'Rays are very eye-catching (that PxPx pickguard makes them hard to miss!). I know he and MxPx have influenced many punk musicians over the years and Herrera himself has always been a huge supporter of your basses and strings. I think a signature model could sell well.

Any chance, even if only as a limited edition/limited time deal?

AFAIK EBMM doesn't do signature basses. They do make special ones for the artists. But never say never with BP and the gang.

A Cliff Williams AC/DC signature Stingray would rock! It will have four A strings....

I seriously doubt it. LaRue and Levin don't have one....not that they don't deserve one...but...I don't think there will be a siggy bass. I could be wrong...as there could be one in the works as we speak...but...again...I highly doubt it.

From what I remember from a previous thread (about Flea, iirc) no less a person than Mr Big Poppa himself I think, effectively said no Sig Stingrays as the bass is its own Sig (which I fully agree with, Louis Johnson for a start, how could you not have him, he helped develop the bass) I for one am glad that the EBMM Stingray remains the EBMM Stingray, thats a good enough Sig for me.

I totally understand, BP. The StingRay truly does have its own signature sound and style already...I guess you do have to draw the line somewhere!

Just thought I'd ask, as both a MxPx and EBMM fan. :)

Sorry but It is a sting ray and there are many diverse artists that have used it as a tool to create their music...It gets to be stingray...where would I stop?

I hate to break it down to you Big Guy but you're batting almost 0.00 lately :) Much to our delight

While a lot of people might buy a bass or guitar based on the artist that it's named after, that may also be a turn-off for others. I personally don't really see a need for a signature EBMM bass model. The Stingray (& Stingray 5) are both classics as is and don't need artist affiliations.

There is the Big Al...

I dislike the idea of signature basses, I don't think anyone deserves one.
Not only that, but most players in general who do have a sig, didn't become famous or creat a killer sound using their new model bass, so what's the point.

I'm not a fan of signature basses either.

However, in terms of someone deserving one, I give credit to John Myung for getting the first (to my knowledge) six string bass from Music Man on the market. I could see him getting his own Bongo. Although since it is stock I don't see the reason other than a custom color possibly.

Exaclty....however, Dave LaRue was playing a bongo before JM....however, no siggy needed. They are not looking to have their name on it...they just want the best tool for their job.

Keep it the way it is....that is what I say but who am I?
