You all are too kind... My four-banger (Mr. Ivory) was almost made with a tort guard. Now that I mention it, I'm not sure why I made it with Black Pearloid! But, I'm still happy with the choice.

Man, you're giving me SERIOUS GAS for a white Stingray with matching headstock! I wasn't so sure about the maple neck at first, but your photos have converted me. Don't get me wrong, I love my black Stingray's maple neck, but wasn't so sure about the look with white, but now I've "seen the Light"! Hallelujah!

I'm really starting to wish you hadn't posted this...that is SUCH a beautiful bass it's making me want a 5 string. I have no use for a 5 string. Why are you giving me GAS for this Mr. Light??? I don't even like matching headstocks--but they look super cool in white like this!

My Modus Operandi

Hey,

I've been trying to tell you all that white is an underappreciated color. In fact, it is probably the only color that I would want with a maple/matching headstock neck. With the other colors, a matching headstock tends to look busy (to me). If I had a burst bass, or any other color, I would probably stay with a natural maple neck.

As it has been mentioned before, I tend to go with a solid color pickguard if the finish is busy and vise versa. The only exceptions would be white and black pearloid. Those two seem to go well with either type of finish.
