Greetings Folks,
I am thinking about buying one of those NEW Roland mini-Microcube amps for portability. This little devil is only about 10 lbs and has 4 little 4" speakers in out. I certainly do not expect any ground breaking effects but has anyone played through one of these? I have tried to track one down but have missed both opportunities that came my way. Would be so easy to toss this thing in my car when I am out of town on business.
Tks

I am checking my local music store daily because as soon as it arrives I am buying one. I love the Roland cubes. I currently have the 30w version which I great.

If you haven't checked it out already, look at the new video on Rolands site about the amp. It really has good sound and the ability to run on batteries will be great for camps, retreats and conferences.

I just grabbed one this AM. My regular guy can not seem to get them in right now. The other place I have bought some some stuff from got one in and called my last night. I stopped in on the way to work and grabbed it. I have yet to try it out but will do so later tonite. Same deal as you, looks to be very portable with a few interesting features. Will let you know how it sounds soon.
Cheers

First Impression

As promised I bought this amp yesterday. I have been checking my local store and they just got a couple in. It wasn't even on the floor yet.

First impression- I got a chance to play some with it last night. I tried the Bongo through it as well as my Fender P Bass Lyte.

I like it. The tone is very good for such a small amp. It is set up similar to my 30 watt Bass Cube with the effects etc and it has rhythm machine in it which I played with just a little last night. Also you can get some volume out of it without distortion.

The main reason I bought it is I have the option of using 6 AA batteries which will be great for retreats and conferences etc. I won't have to deal with trying to find an outlet and I can take it anywhere.

First impression- I like it!:D

Sounds pretty good. I had basically the same thought, easy to move around as well as the battery flexability. Glad you gave it a plus. I look forward to giving it a go later on.

Pleased

I finally had the chance to run this one through. Wow, pretty impressed for such a small amp and the sound it emits. Since I am up-grading my jamming gear I wanted to have something small and portable to move around the house and such. This should do the trick quite nicely. The added battery angle may prove to be a neat feature for banging around outdoors (cottage, mother-in-law visits, etc)
Overall, pretty good
