Ray and one of the Dudepit regulars, Jim, who was in town on bidness, came by last night to sip martinis and hang out, play basses and trade lies while fondling instruments.

Jim has actually attended Jeff Berlin's school but still seems like a normal person.

Ray has a single H Bongo 4 on order but I watched him closely last night, and the Dargin-approved Blue Pearl Bongo HS 5 was definitely getting his attention.

See the eyebrows? They're up, like "Oh ho! This is a nice surprise!"

The look that says, "But I don't want to love a fiver! And yet, I cannot deny it."

The Alpha Bongo (black sapphire HH 5) still makes the others cower in fear.

Here's Jim with his watermelon martini and the Flaming Biff. I don't think he wanted to put it down. Ray and I were playing all three Bongos in the studio, but Jim seemed to be stuck to this bass.

See? He's not even playing, he's just watching Ray go over to the dark side, but he's not putting that bass down.

Eventually, he was forced at gunpoint to put down the Flaming Biff Bongo, but you can tell he isn't happy about it.

Me and the Desert Island bass.

Good guys and good times. Bass players are just nicer (mostly) than those other types, eh?

It would be just so fun to get to hang with Jack and Ray. One of my goals in life actually.

Looks like a fun time. Rockin Ray going fiver? Wow.

The weird pink looking thing is a watermelon martini. I myself would not drink one (I tried that one - tasted like a Jolly Roger candy), but Jim is unaccustomed to 'the hard stuff' and requested something with 'taste' to it. I was happy to oblige.

Ray Duke can play a fiver like nobody's business; he's just been gravitating back to the four banger world lately.

Those look like regular size Bongos to me, or might you all be giants

We are not small people, now that I think about it.

And yes, I need a haircut. No, it's not at the top of my list of things to do! Hey, what can I say? I don't work!
