The production run of Music Man amps was from 1974 through 1984. EB bought the company in late 1984 and never put the amps into production.

Here is a user site with some info on MM amps:

http://www.musicmanamps.com/

According to the "Models" page from the site; the HD 130s the first generation of MM amps and were produced from 1974 through 1979. Depending on the year they could have 1 12AX7 preamp tube or the preamp could be 100% solid state; unfortunately there is no serial number chart:

Music Man Amps - Model Chart

Take their info with a grain of salt. Back in the day I had one of the 112-RD50 models; it was my first "decent" amp (i.e. "not a 10-watt solid state amp") and I bought it brand new in the summer of 1981 and they list that model as running from 1982-1984.

Thanks a lot for the information! At least I can say that the amp is most likely a 70s model... :) I'll try to get in touch with they guy who runs the musicmanamp-page, maybe he has any idea about the serial number stuff.

Anyway, hope it won't be the wrong decision to sell my jcm900 sl-x to buy this amp.

Thanks so far, cheers from Germany
