MM Petrucci problem? or it's normal?

i have just purchased a beautiful MM pet w/piezo.

my first guitar was a stratocaster. my second one an ibanez universe.
when i purchased my ibanez universe i was surprised that was very silent..and i expected that even the pet was the same..

this is the "problem":
whenever im not touching ANY metal parts on the guitar there is a little hum coming out of the amp(even with clean settings). but whenever i touched ANY metal on the instrument the hum went away...
with my ibanez universe this thing doesn't happen..if i don't touch the guitar there is not hum coming out of the amp...
is this normal?? HELP!

The Same things happens to me on my strat. The only metal parts I can touch with the hum still going on are the screws that are holding the pickguard.

Help us!

i know that this problem for a strat is normal,but from a musicman i expected "the total silence"
