Anyone ordered a MM guard from these guys? I ordered and paid for two of them three weeks ago. I've received no guards, received no sort of confirmation from them, and they don't answer my emails. They did, however, have no problem finding the time to accept my paypal payment.

I've ordered many pickguards from them over the years without a single issue. The b/w/b pickguard for the Big Al 5H came from them.

Every time I ordered, I called them on the phone. Never have a problem with someone picking up. Heck, he even owns an Albert Lee guitar....

They are indeed slow as molasses with ZERO communication. As a matter of fact, the only email I had returned was the one where I called them out on their complete lack of customer service. Let's just say they were rather offended by my assessment.

Their pickguards, however, are gorgeous and fit like a glove, but I'm afraid that was the fist and last time I will deal with them. Shame.

Three weeks is the lead time they state on their ordering page. And your Paypal receipt is your confirmation of order. What's the big deal?

This is a small mom-and-pop type business. They have no automated ordering/tracking/customer service systems like those at large Internet retailers. Those systems are great, but they've trained us to think that every business on the planet runs 24/7 and has robots ready to answer emails seconds after they're received.

You're dealing with humans here. Like bassmonkee said, call 'em on the phone. That's way more efficient than sending email, checking email, sending more email, logging onto an Internet forum to gripe and plowing through responses like this one.

They will come through, and the product is excellent. I have one in my hands and can't wait for my Big Al to arrive so that I can verify fit and take the plastic off.

By the way, I know it doesn't help but I just went to the site and saw this:

We will be working off-site July 18 thru July 27, 2011 - our offices and factory are closed during this time.

I would have been offended, too. When I talked to them and gave my order and credit card number, he said it'd be about a month. I didn't hear from them, again. Why would I? I saw a charge go through about 3 1/2 weeks later on my card, and a week later, I had a package arrive at my door from California.

I don't know. I've never emailed them. Call 'em up, place order, occasionally shoot the poop about MM guitars, hang up, receive pickguard in mail. This has been done without incident about 12 times.

This is veering out of appropriate forum discussion material. It is fun to get wacky colors not offered by the factory, though. I'm trying to decide on the next pickguard for the white Bongo when I eventually send the neck off to have it refinished like the BillyBass...Hmmmmm....

I did call and place my order. The gal was pleasant enough. I was charged right away and given a 2 week lead-time over the phone. I am a patient guy. I started emailing around the week 4 mark. Nada.

By the way, I wasn't harsh in my assessment which is why I couldn't believe the response I received. How DARE I mention that while I was ECSTATIC about the guard, I wasn't particularly happy with the lead-time and communication. LOL! I just found it hilarious that the was the only time my correspondence was acknowledged.

PS - I run a mom & pop and that's no excuse. If my customer service was as non responsive as theirs, I would have no mom & pop to operate. Again, great product, but I'm just sayin.

Thank God for Paypal, The sad part is with many pickguard Companies including WD, no one make a GUARD to fit the pickup Correctly, so I now make my own and there's no gap between the guard and Pickup.

WD is horrible for fit. The one I received from Chandler (Pickguard Heaven) was a perfect fit.

Where are those mods today? I feel a dispute coming on......

It's not a weekend so they can't be at Brighton sea front - perhaps they're listening to their Who records then :p

Jeeze some of you self appointed forum nazis need to take a chill. The pick guards are for MM basses. I use MM basses exclusively. I paid my money for the guards. I'm perfectly entitled to note my experiences. If Jack think's it's not proper, he'll remove it.

I'm glad you had good experiences with them Jason. That gives me hope the guards will be worth the wait.

So I may have jumped the gun just a little. (OR, the squeeky wheel gets the grease), but either way, these fit and look great.

Guards and basses look great, just an fyi are you aware of :The Perfect Bass - Bass Guitars, Amps, Gear!
Great store in Baton Rouge, he carries a big inventory of original MM guards, the BA guards aren't listed yet but he does have them, as I just bought an inroute Candy Red BA 5 SSS and ordered a Tort guard. They kept me in the loop with almost real time updates. Highly recommended.
