Hi All,

I am the happy new owner of a beautiful MM stingray (received it yesterday) :)

I am totally in love with this thing, it is just amazing!

Though, I have a question. The pickguard has a strange finish that contrast with the beautiful mat finish of the instrument. It nearly seems that there is a kind of foil on it (sort of bubbles near the screws, and tiny bubbles on the surface).

I didn't dare trying to remove it since I am not sure that there is actually a foil or if it is just a problem with the plastic of the pickguard.

any of you guys ever heard about something like that? Should I try to remove it? Should I buy a new pickguard?

thank you in advance!

Edit: actually it looks just like that:

It's the protection foil you find on brand new basses. All is good. Take it off. Enjoy your new bass!

BTW, no pics, no bass

the pics are not too good but I only have a poor camera here. It's a shame because they do not reflect the beauty of this bass :)

I'll try to take more pictures soon ;)

Cheers!

Malkav, I wish You a very, very warm welcome to the EBMM forum family!

I'm so glad that we have here another member from the Balkans!

Very nice bass You bought, hope it's gonna serve it well! ;)

This protection foil is easy to remove, but sometimes can stuck around the screws and that happen to me, but it's not a big deal just unscrew it a bit for one turn, and dig out the rest of the stuck foil! Don't forget to tight the screw back! ;)

P.S. ...lijepi pozdrav kolegi u Sarajevu iz ledenog Zagreba! :)

@ Keko: greetings from snowy Sarajevo, but I am French and my language skills are not that great so I actually asked for help to understand your message ;)
