Really?
So that means the darker the colour, the darker the sound?!

Yeah Foggy, changing black plastic knobs to for example metal chrome knobs will really brighten up the sound of the guitar when exposed to light :D:D:D

*ROFL*

I love this place ;) goooooood fun !

Interesting!
So tell me about NorM's abalone tone and volume knobs!
"add more colour and dimension to the sound???" :D:p

Exactly Foggy, you got it ! :D

...but the moonstone pickguard on my pearl purple Silo Spec adds even more dimension to the tone than NorM's abalone knobs
In fact, all the pearl finishes on Silo bodies make these guitars produce even pearlier tones, while the metallic finishes add an extra amount of edge and "cut-thru" capabilities...

:D :D :D

...sorry guys, but I'm not far from "P"-ing my pants right now... drop dead laughing... :D

That makes a lot of sense actually. It is said that moonstone carries certain mytical properties.

Read here:

Moonstone crystal what are the properties of moonstone?

Now I just have to tell my wife a need a guitar with a moonstone guard. It's only for my holistic health. It's really not about the guitar!!!

Jeeez!
I just read that AND NOW I FINALLY UNDERSTAND WHY I just cannot keep my hands off the pearl purple and "moonstoned" Silo Spec !!!
I feel better and better the more I use and abuse her :D
...yes, me too I get MOONSTONED in the process ;)

Drifting off into a thread about the esoteric effects our fiddles have on us...

...these effects show off violently in this forum... :D

Go tell your better half (Mrs. "I am a guitar forum" Fogman:D) about the moonstone. She WILL understand !

I had bought her some moonstone jewelry a while back. Then I had told her about the stone's inherent properties.
I think I'll have to remind her. ;)
