I'm gassing for an Axis / Ass with MM90's. I got to thinking about the current technology that EBMM is utilizing throughout the lineup and started thinking about the sonic potential of MM90's with a chambered body guitar.

I think I just opened up a can of worms in my own mind.

I'm thinking that MM90's with added resonance of a chambered body might be damn near perfection (for that style of pickup). I don't think that this option currently exists. I know BP hates these kinds of threads, but it doesn't seem too far fetched....considering what's already in the lineup.

Just thinking out loud. Have a good day all.

yea, but that would cost a lot less and i'd have one less guitar. i think the whole idea here is to spend more money and have more guitars! right?

I agree with Beej, try with some Phat Cat in your 25th you won't be disapointed

you guys have me thinking.......hmmmm. can't bring myself to change my 25th, but i could consider a reflex and change the pups to phat cats.

threeminutesboy, is that guitar yours? if so, besides trimming the mounting tabs, did everything else fit normally?

Yes this was my guitar and yes apart from the legs everything fits normally and the tone was also fantastic. The guy who purchase it wanted to reinstall stock pups but after trying this config said I was crazy to sell it :)

Don't touch the 25th. You know how perfect it sounds. My Cherry Burst BFR Axis ss with MM 90's arrived today. I bought it from 'Headstock'. I'm out of town until Friday. I can't wait to get my hands on my 4th Ball. I'll let you know how different it sounds from my Tobacco Ass. I know it may not address your post regarding MM90's and chambering, but I'm really excited to hear those MM 90's. Very interesting question, though.
