Hey Guys,

I did a quick search on the site and couldn't find any info on the Wilkinson trem on my Sil Spec. I was wondering if any of you knew the model? The reason being I'm looking at changing the saddles to Graphtech's (anyone who's tried graphtech's your comments would be appreciated too) and It would be nice to price the right ones.

Cheers,
Jon

Ernie Ball Music Man used the Wilkinson VSV Tremolo on some of their guitars prior to introducing their own in-house model. As far as Graphtecs are concerned, I've got them on my Silhouette (because the original saddles are too corroded to use!) and I've used them on Strats, and I've always thought that they're good saddles - I don't hesitate to buy them as replacement saddles when I need to...

Thanks Jimi D!

My saddles are looking that way too. What model of Graphtec saddles did you use if you don't mind my asking?

Cheers

I just put the model number PS-8000-00 on my silhouette special and I love them, they are way more comfortable than those vintage style saddles, my axis has the stock saddles of course, but if you rest your hand on the bridge at all then the graph techs you will need, they didnt change the tone at all either, no better, no worse, they look pretty cool too -

Hi Jon,

My Silhouette has the EB/MM stop tail, so the saddles I used may not be suitable for your trem. I suggest you go to Graphtec's website and ask them what saddles you should use for a Wilkinson VSV - to be honest, I'm not sure they make ANY saddles that would work on one of these VSV trems; as I recall, they have a pretty strange saddle/intonation system...
