Moderators: Pickup Cover Question

Are the pickup covers part of the pickup itself on the Stingray 5s? I want to change mine out and haven't even looked yet....

The Stingray 5 pickup cover is glued on to the pickup. The 4 string you can take on and off.

If you want to change out on the 5 you have to change the whole pickup.

Humph, the one I had must have been unglued then. My 93 SR5 came with a PUP that the cover slid right offf of?

I once inquired with Ernie Ball Co. about this, and the response was that with the SR5, I'd have to replace the entire pickup, and would have to send the original one back to them in order to purchase a new one in the different color. Bummer.
