Monk vs Columbo

Hmmm, your thoughts....

Is 'Monk' the more comedic natural successor to 'Columbo' for the crown of God Of Detective Shows?

Sure, Monk's been out for ages but I was just thinking about it on the tube on the way into work. Obviously Columbo is the king but we still need a successor to this crown.

I would have nominated her....but she's rubbish. A bit like Ironside and Perry Mason. I don't CARE if the actors had physical problems...you can't name the show after these characters when all they do is get their sidekicks to do all the work. You watch an episode of Perry Mason and he's in it for about 1/5th of the whole thing!

Thus characters like Monk and Columbo are the true kings. Kings of Murder Investigation. Oh how I aspire to be like them...saying that, Mark and Steve Sloan aren't too bad either.

Now who'd win in an autopsy battle between Mark Sloan from Diagnosis Murder and Quincy?

Monk is really good, but Colombo is king! Oh, and one more thing , both are shows that I can wath over an over again, kinda like the Honeymooners or the Odd Couple.

I don't watch alot of TV but I don't mind Monk. Probably because he reminds me of my wife, a cleaning fetish that's always accusing me of crimes.

Columbo rules!!!!!You dont need successor,Columbo doesnt find the only smallest briliant details like Monk,Poirot or Holmes,he finds more!!He finds the smallest and the most strange details that can be found!!!!He finds even that details that other detectives really never consider about,Monk would find them too if he would consider about them,but he doesnt!!!!There are things whitch only Columbo considers about,Monk is really good but Columbo is and will remain the King for me!!!!!!!
