Mono Case Bewilderment

Mono Softcase or the Hardcase

I cannot say that I have formed a strong opinion about the MONO cases in which EBMM instruments are now shipping.

I have one Music Man-branded SKB cases, and two Music Man-branded MONO cases.

The MONO cases seem much bulkier than the SKB cases. They are certainly thicker, and the length decrease is very negligible; and as others have indicated, they do not store as well. I fortunately have room for them, but they are not as space-efficient, in my view.

I suspect that there would be less room in my car if I were to travel with two MONO cases, whereas I have been able to comfortably fit two guitars in other hard case types.

I have not travelled with MONO cases yet, but I would possibly be more likely to use a harder case when taking a guitar somewhere.

For two of my Fender Stratocasters, I have a Fender Deluxe Moulded Case, which, I found, comfortably holds a Luke; so for anyone with that type of EBMM guitar, if you also have that type of Fender hard case, it presents a viable option of the MONO case is not desirable.

Whether other EBMM guitars would be accommodated, I do not know.

There are SKB cases which can be purchased; but again, I do not know whether these would accommodate certain EBMM guitar types.

Of course, having to spend more money on an additional case for a very premium instrument is not going to be palatable to everyone.

Hopefully this information is helpful.
